Clifton Observatory Cafe
Concept Design | Visualisations | Detail Drawing Pack
Working as the project lead for the interior design of a new cafe extension for Bristol landmark Clifton Observatory.
The furniture and counter were fully bespoke, with solid oak refectory benches and oak clad counter made in-house by Bristol based joinery workshop Young and Norgate.
The design ran from inside to outside, with exterior tables and benches mirroring those from the interior space.
The project was taken on on behalf of Young and Norgate.

Taking inspiration from Isambard Kingdom Brunel
Inspired by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the Iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge that the cafe overlooks.
Subtle nods to industry, like black bandsawn oak, refectory tables, and a suspended plant ledge using high tensioned steel cables.
